Associate Director of ICT

Strong ICT team, good engagement with NPfIT, Major Infrastructure and training project with Trust GP’s

Initially on a consultancy basis, but subsequently holding the role of Associate Director for ICT as a job share secondment with Geoff Broome, leading the development of the entire Trust ICT agenda.
During this time, we revised the ICT department structure, grew a strong local team, reviewed and repositioned the departmental agenda and established a borough-wide NPfIT Programme Board.
One of many key projects was developing the use of IT in General Practice, involving a wholesale audit of each practice, reviewing what hardware the practice had, and how their GP system was being used. Each practice then agreed to their own development plan, which included new hardware and tailored training.
In preparation for the implementation of NPfIT solutions, a major programme of infrastructure development took place, improving the level of PC access and also the underlying network, which vastly improved the speed and reliability of the Trusts ICT solutions.
